about

For the very first time available for download the seminal EP of Blackmailers, "Jumping Blues". Published originally in 1999 by RNB Records it remains the only recorded artifact that preserves the music of Blackmailers.

Blackmailers were active between November 1998 and September 1999 and was formed by Mateo "Ramblin Matt" Garcia and soul brother, colleague and best guitar player in the business, Silver Borrás. Mateo just returned of a stunt of 5 years living in the US, the last three in the Windy City, Chicago, where the blues is stuck to the heart of the town.

Silver had finished a relationship of a few years with famed harp player Danny Boy Sánchez, as a part of his band or with Bluesville.Once the setlist was ready Joloc and Jon "Psycho" Luna decided to join the band, being themselves two of the best instrumentists of Valencia, Lead guitar and drums respectively who gave the band a strenght and solidness in their steamrollin live sets.

In the last two months Matt and Silver were backed by master drummer Manolo Cascales (ex Revolver, Electric Motorband) as a trio, working under the name of Hot Tamales. They shared the bill with Paul Lamb & his Kingsnakes in beach town Gandia in a riotous mad blues night.

Only this EP, two TV broadcasts and a bunch of gigs remain as blurred memories...but the music remains.

Blackmailers, Jumping Blues, City Blues, real vintage Strats and Tellies and jump, cat, jump!
